Our Belongings

I keep your belongings,
Our belongings; safe;
For the day we will reconcile

I have:
An orange diary of ours, that we shared,
A handmade diary you made me
on my eighteenth birthday
Two copies of a journal which
published your writings
A pair of yellow pants
scribbled with ‘Om’
A pair of blue harem pants you
bought for me from a beach
A ‘Save Sharmilla’ tee-shirt, you lent me
on a rainy evening
when I went to court another woman
A cracked brown bangle
And memories of you safely tucked away
