What brings back, the breeze to the ocean

What brings back, the breeze to the ocean

So shall rise the seas and fall;
Rush and run, like children to brawl,
Touch the sands and run back swift,

To the ocean’s embrace, boundless beyond;

Rise above, the children of the sea,
Soaring through skies, in formless foam,
Yet to fall, in marching drops,
Like pearls from heaven, to down below;

“Where to, had ye gone?”, the ocean asks,
“We soared and flew and floated”, they say,
“O’er hills and trees and beasts”, they say,

“Yet no place, in ether nor earth,

Good as home, we are pleased to stay.”
